Teresa, hope you don't mind, I'm reposting a previous answer of mine:
Sad news.......May his Legacy always live on;
There is no darkness in this place
that we're bound
Love is the only thing that matters
Don’t look down
Though your heart may be weary
Don’t look down
Though your wings are on fire
Don’t look down
Though the night may seem endless
There’s a reason you’re flying
this fast and this far
Let your faith be your strength
And your love be your guiding star
~Icarus Ascending, Dan Fogelberg

I just finished doing a search on YA and there are a whole lot of posts about Dan Fogelberg's passing, and I actually read through most of them and the majority, like me, have been very touched by him over the years. I actually posted a message on YA last night around 11:00 after I read about it while I was online. I can't even imagine a world without him and any new music that I'm sure he would have written. Fortunately we will always have the music he did create while he was with us. My younger years are filled with memories of his incredible music. I don't really remember exactly how or where I "discovered" him - I like to think he discovered me. He so touched me. Even though I didn't know him personally, I feel like he knew me because the way he wrote was just the way I thought and felt. His kind of talent is almost non-existent anymore. As far as I'm concerned, he is one of the most gifted and talented artists of my generation. Such a beautiful human being. The world is less now. My heart is hurting.

Such a talented man. My group sang several of his songs(I was in a folk group for over 20 years). One of my all time favorite songs was Run for the Roses. Beautiful. He was much to young to be taken away like that. Now that the holiday season is here and they are playing Auld Lang syne, I find myself even closer to tears than normal.

I am so glad you posted this. I have been listening to his music nonstop since hearing. I feel like a part of my life is over! It sounds silly since I didn't personally know this man, but his songs inspired so many life dreams when I was younger, and now that he's gone, it's like he took the dreams with him. If it hurts this much to lose him and I didn't even know him personally, I cannot imagine what his wife must be going through. This world is a little greyer now that he is gone. I'll miss him forever and Christmas will seem sadder this year, but I'll have his beautiful Christmas music playing to keep his spirit alive.

Sorry Teresa - I do not know who Dan Fogelberg was! Was he a British performer/singer? I do not think that he was too well known in the USA - I do play a lot of current and popular music, but this name escapes me. But it is sad - no one should die that young! CJ

Well, he wasn't my all time favorite, but I like to sing along with songs, and Leader of the Band, I could never get out of my throat.

I know the name that’s all. His music I would probably recognize if I heard it. But anybody that brought this much happiness to people is well worth missing.

Yes.....I liked "Be on your way"...one song no-one has mentioned. Lord knows how many times my heart was broken and I listened and cried myself to sleep to that song. I will definately miss him.
Be on your way
Don't try to say
that you love, me, still
If we couldn't find
the right way by now
then we never, will
We paid our dues at the door,
and never once saw the stage.
We wrote our share of loves lore,
and never quite filled the page
so be on your way.
