I did consider myself to be intelligent until I took my Microbiology final. It was so hard and I am soooooooo mad at myself for not studying more than I did. I don't know what makes me dumber not studying long enough or doing badly on the test. All I can do is hope for a B! Lol! I feel better now that I vented! Yes, I consider myself to be book smart but I can be a little naive when it comes to things you need street smarts for. I always try and see the best in everyone and sometimes that makes me stupid. I think everyone is intelligent in their own ways. Think about it, you may know how to fix a car but you don't know what Crime and Punishment is. That doesn't make you unintelligent, just interested in different things. If you want to learn, you are intelligent.

I don't think myself as an highly intelligent person, its not something a person should think about himself. Its something the other people who you work with should evaluate. If person think too much of himself then its labelled as self centered and will lead to isolation. I quote your words "Lot's of people normally find it difficult to imagine a woman being intelligent, or possessing the ability to express higher ordered reasoning." Thats not true, infact a lot of women i know are the most intelligent i have ever seen. I came here because i am having a bit of fun arguing or answering questions with people all over the globe.I am curious to know their views on something that i like. I am person B of your example but the thing is i didn't still get the best marks in class you know why because its the hard working individual that will have the final laugh. EDIT:What i meant was not all the research is done by us. BQ: I am an Engineering graduate specializes in Electrical technology.Research is meant for the scientist's not for us.We uses research done by scientists to actually create what they have proposed. EDIT:What i meant was not all the research is done by us.Yes i agree other professions does rely on researching infact every new tech that we see today has first came into being because of researching.Research is not only scientific but also based on humanities and artistic.

i like how Kitkat said if you want to learn, you are intelligent. overall, i think i'm quite intelligent. but i don't know anything about a lot of things. i've never driven anything with an engine, except farm tractors. my last year in school, a lifetime ago, i answered maybe ten questions on a math test.... i got them all wrong. i can't learn a second language.
