I have a male, and I think he's REALLY rough...if you read some of my last posts you will see what I mean.

So I'm thinking about switching.

Just wondering what everyone else preferred. :)

Male.

I've had a female one who never did her job.
This other one at the ER was too rough. Talk about "rough". That lady had issues.
This other male was really gentle.

I now have another male that i've had for about 4 years and he's really gentle. If I say "Ow" or something, he stops and does it differently. He's really friendly. I never thought I would ever be comfortable with a male gynecologist, but once I started going to him, my mind changed.

You should switch if he makes you uncomfortable or whatever. But just know that females can be that way too. I think it's good if you just find one that works well. Good luck.

The two best gynecologists I've ever had have both been men, and the only really bad one I ever had was a woman. Seriously, this woman huffed at me when I said "OW!" and said, "Well if that's your attitude I don't know how you think you're going to get through childbirth." Cow. I had never had a pelvic exam that was more than mildly painful with any other doctor before or since, so I am pretty sure I was not the person at fault.

Obviously, if your guy is rough, go to a new one... but I can't guarantee a woman will be any better.

For some reason in my adventure woman ones are not almost as delicate, the two I observed (nicely one grew to become right into a gyno the different grew to become right into a widespread wellness practitioner) did the main painful swabs EVER, i don't even comprehend tactics to make that painful yet they did... With male widespread medical doctors that never befell, and the male gyno I observed extremely made each little thing the main delicate. it is in all probability in simple terms accident inspite of the undeniable fact that, i in my view doubt all woman medical doctors do painful tests... It does seem as though perhaps because of the fact that adult men don't have vaginas it makes them extra apprehensive that they might someway harm the affected person, and makes them extra careful. the female medical doctors I observed easily did not seem concered approximately hurting me in any respect...

Female

I've had both, but I must admit that I prefer a female. They know what you are going through and have been there. KWIM? The male that I had was a little "girly", that may be why I liked him. He did a great job, but I do prefer having a female doc.

The best doctor is a good doctor. It would be nice if gynecologists fit into neat categories of males behave this way and females behave this other way. But really, it's all individual variation, and there's simply no way to tell until you see that doctor and have an exam--or if you have a friend see that doctor.

I prefer a female doctor. I just feel more comfortable. If yours is too rough with you its definitely time to find a new one.

I have female doctor at GYNO office. It's doesn't matter whose are male or female. All depend on person. Sometimes, female give you tough times. It's could happen. No ones whose perfect.

I like males so they can feel me up....

lol, j/k.... I prefer women, because when I had some old guy he scared me because he was about to touch me without gloves, but luckily my mom was there to put him on the spot. Women are really polite and understand everything personally, and not just from books, so you don't feel awkward asking them questions...

I prefer a female doc, all around. It is easier to talk to her about girly stuff.

I have been to a male gyn once, and it was kind of humiliating. Even though they are a doctor, here you are flat on your back with your legs spread.... It made me very uncomfortable.
