Court case HELP??
i am doing a persuasive essay on this court case. it will take a while to explain it, so i'll post a link here, so you can see:

so for the essay, i have to explain if it was unconstitutional or not. and i have to explain why. how would you interpret this court case in loose constructionism or broad constructionism, and do you think it violates the constitution? just yes or no i want to take a survey..

The Court held it was NOT unconstitutional.

They ruled that it was not a violation of a students 1st amendment rights to force him to pay money that would be used, at least in part, to fund political activism that he opposed, as long as the University was "viewpoint neutral" in funding such programs - ie so long as the American Communist Party and the American Nazi Party, the College Republicans and the College Democrats, each had the same access to the funds.

The US Supreme Court was unaminous in its decision, so I would say the UW policy was unconstitutional.

This type of policy goes beyond even colleges. A couple years ago a federal court ruled labor unions can't use union dues to fund political activities and endorsements which members disagree with.

I personally agree with the courts. If I wouldn't directly give money to a cause, why would I want my money to indirectly go to that cause? Especially a state supported (IE: taxes go to them) institution.
