If all of our Laws are going to be made by the EU in Brussels
and 90% of our existence is going to be controlled from there.
Why do we need the hundreds of M.P.'s that we currently vote for and pay extortionate salaries and pensions to????

Maybe we should get rid of the House of Commons and just keep the Lords.
This being a lot cheaper, would probably allow a 50% cut in our Taxes.
Think about it!!!!!!

Don't hold your breath.

Where I live we vote for - and pay high salaries to - City councilors, County Supervisors, State Representatives, State Senators, a Governor and Lt Governor, Federal Representatives, Federal Senators, the President and Vice President.

Add to that lot the elected - and paid - members of the boards of the school district, transportation district, municipal utility district, BART, plus piles of other assorted elected deadwood, and you start to wonder if there's anyone who's not in some elected office or another.
