What do you like? You should probably take a tour of the Fisherman's Wharf area of San Fran. You can take a ferry ride/tour to Alcatraz and around Angel Island, and around the Golden Gate bridge, while listening to a narration of its history. If you like wine, there are tons of wineries around there. You can take a 'wine train' tour that includes a meal and several stops at wineries. Union Square in SF has some awesome shopping. There are lots of famous sites to see in the city. Quite an extensive Chinatown, if you want some duck or frogs hanging fresh for you! ;-) There is a huge Japanese garden, and other gardens and parks. Keep in mind, it is going to be freezing. It's not the L.A. beach and sun! It will likely be cold, foggy, maybe windy.
My cousin from MN came once in the summer and froze!
