A gigabyte is 1,024 megabytes. A 1/2 a gigabyte is equal to 512 megabytes, and 1/4 of a gigabyte would equal 256 megabytes. Continuing along this line brings us to 1/8 of a gig at 128 megs, and 1/16 of a gig at 64 megs. Do these numbers (512, 256, 128, 64, 32) sound familiar? They should. These are the megabyte numbers that video cards have progressed along over the past several years.
