I have never done that and I'm not planning to convince someone to do that but i study English and this question is in my Enlish textbook we are learning how to persuade people i'd like to be the first person who will raise his hand when my teacher asks if anyone can answer to that question. what would you tell him or her if you wanted to do that

you say that their not going to do anything at school so whats the point in going! And maybe that will talk them into it
