Quite possibly. Anyone who thinks that play was a bad idea needs to thinks things through a bit further. Taking a knee put the Eagles into victory formation and guaranteed that the Cowboys wouldn't get the ball in their hands again. Do you remember what the Cowboys did to the Bills on MNF? They can't score if they don't get the ball which is what Westbrook guaranteed with that play.

he is pretty unselfish---BUT, if you watch the tape of the game, you will see that whoever it was running toward him from his team was motioning him to get down instead of going into the end zone. i still think it was a very unselfish move though that not too many NFL players would have agreed too. but you have to admit, TO has been a little bit better this year and not quite as much an as* as he used to be.

It was certainly a smart play, and not out of character, as Westbrook is one of the better backs in the league in blitz pickup despite being smaller. Anyone who doesn't think the Eagles use him enough is clueless--he's leading the NFL in yards from scrimmage.

Brian Westbrook is a very unselfish team orientated player.
Too bad the team does not use him enough to make that team better.

Yes, I think 99% of football players score in any situation. Westbrook plays for the team, not for himself.

If downing the ball on the 1 is an example of his character then yes he is potentially the least selfish and perhaps most intelligent player in the NFL.

He might be. He's a great player, and I'm glad his 24-yard Non-Touchdown run has been shown all over ESPN and the NFL Network's highlights today. Putting team success over individual stats; what a concept!
