I don't hold it against fans who have been loyal to a team and have decided at some point to move on a root for another team and stay loyal to that one.
I'm only asking because I see so many frustrated Lions, Raiders, and Chiefs fans on here who are stuck rooting for teams with terrible management and terrible owners. I'm not saying they should abandon them for it but it does get to a point where you say this just isn't worth it. The team has no direction and I'm wasting my time cheering them on.
If you are one of those fans. Who do you root for now and who is a team you are interested in rooting for in the future?

Chiefs and Nachos - When I say stuck in the case it's more like stuck out of loyalty and not so much by choice. Of course you have the option to do whatever you like. All those players you named mean nothing without the right guidance. And as you have stateted, Carl Peterson's 5 year superbowl plan is going on to it's 20th year now may not frustrate you but I may have frustrated other fans to the brink of possible change.

well, i'm a Saints fan and have been for 20 years now, so i always stay loyal to my team. my husband is huge Chiefs fan, but he continues to support them. it's not the players fault that the management is screwing them up.

I'm a Chiefs fan and I don't consider myself as being "stuck" rooting for the team. I can honestly say I'm not interested in rooting for another team. It's true that KC has terrible management - Carl Peterson's 5 year superbowl plan is going on to it's 20th year now - but I've seen worse times than this in the 80's. I'd almost feel like I was letting the Chiefs players down if I left them to root for a better team. I feel I owe it to guys on the team like Tony Gonzalez, Casey Weigman, Brian Waters and Greg Wesley. Those players that have spent their entire careers here in KC but haven't yet won a playoff game. They've had oppurtunities to go play elsewhere but have stuck with it even through the tough times. They didn't leave me and I won't leave them.
Oh, it's definitely frustrating. In the 17 years that I've had season tickets, I've never seent he atmosphere as negative as what it was at Arrowhead on Sunday. Guys with bags on their heads, signs saying "Bring on the Royals" and only 50,000 people showed up - 30,000 empty seats in the Sea of Red tells you a lot about how Chiefs fans in KC feel right now. And it's unanimous here among the fans - King Carl has to go. Hopefully Clark Hunt will have the cajones to fire him, because I know the King won't step down.

I've been a fan, of my favorite team since 1972... I have never thought about cheering for another team. I do, when they are not in Superbowl, root for whichever team is from the AFC, in the game (unless it's the Colts, can't stand them).... I'll be sticking with my team, for a good long time.

I've been a Browns fan as long as I can remember. The only time I didn't watch football was when Modell pulled his little stunt. We've got the Browns back now.Takes a lot of courage to stick with a team win or loose. A lot of the Browns fans went to Pissburgh but the majority stuck with em. I'll be a Browns fan forever.

Any team that advances my team in the division or possible playoff picture. I've lived all over the country, and even overseas, but I can't bear to think of cheering for another team as I do my own.

I'm a Chiefs fan and, even though they are very disappointing, I have to stick with them. Every team has a bad season sometimes - it's just part of football. Being a fan means sticking with your team and hoping they get better. Nothing worse than fair-weather fans who jump ship at the first sight of trouble and jump on a bandwagon for a winning team.
However, if you want something to root for, fantasy football is great. Every game means something for you and I find myself rooting for players and teams that I've never cheered on before. With all of the internet sites for fantasy football, including Yahoo!'s own free leagues, it's incredibly easy and very fun!

I've never rooted for another team besides the Cowboys. Been a fan since 1980. So I've had my ups and downs. I'm starting to enjoy the ups again, but I'm sure there will be more downs in the future after Romo retires.

No, I'll never switch teams. Once a steelers fan, always a steelers fan. But, now I live in Texas and my boyfriend likes the cowboys. So, I have to start watching them and try to like them. It's been difficult. But the steelers will always be my team.
