You can't get rid of it? I mean, I wouldn't want to murder anyone but no body wants to adopt a retarded kid and so you would be stuck with this burdeon for life! You would have to spend the next few decades with your life and your finances revolving around one form of life that has nothing to offer in return. Isn't that sick and scary?

But a handicapped child just brings heartache. They are completely dependant on you and you could no longer be an independant person.?

Sorry can i make this a bit clearer? I don't mean mild mental diseases, I'm thinking of the completely helpless kids in wheelchairs who can't communicate, can't feed themselves and never will be able to.

Muahahaha?
Technically I'm autistic, which a form of, you guessed it, mental retardation. And yes, my parents went through a lot the first 14 or so years of my life before it really began to pay off. But, truth is, now I have my own job with an above average American salary and can support myself perfectly...and actually took less money than many as I maintained scholarships throughout college. Why? Because Autism actually led me to have special talents in things like math, music, and computer science.

So before you go busting your bosoms over how hopeless people like myself are...let me just remind you truly excellent parents can make it pay off. It's your choice whether you become such a parent and/or support such parents or just become a whiner on the sidelines.
------------------------------------------
And, worst case scenario the child never learns (such as my Autistic uncle), there are many adoption agencies available set up to provide care for several people at once at a very low cost per person do to shared facilities. So you can stop acting like we are a ridiculous burden in the world.

Are we in simple terms meant to take your be conscious for it that he pronounced those issues. Your article itself says that it became right into a Congress accusation yet Modi's recorded speech does not comprise one in each of these words. So it extremely is Congress evaluating Dalits to "mentally retarded" to tarnish Modi's image. Congress has continuously tried to artificially create one in each of those caste and non secular branch interior the rustic for political positive aspects. FYI the politically the terrific option term is mentally challenged or in any different case abled. It additionally shows Congress social gathering's character in case you communicate dalits or the mentally challenged as lesser people. study your article lower back. that's what it says. I cite an analogous article for what i pronounced. it incredibly is not me who has to offer the recording. you suspect Modi pronounced those issues. the burden of evidence is on the believer. So except you could produce a transcript of the recording with the alleged words those are wild synthetic allegations. Your wild accusations won't carry water in a courtroom of regulation. this could be a low value attack and not the rest. All you men do is carry media trials with your offered out buddies interior the media and attempt to assassinate the character of a guy or woman. that's precisely why you're doing it with the best thing about anonymity on the internet. If Narsimha Rao can get into official subject by using calling people "Bhangi" this can be the prospect you all have been waiting for if what you assert is real. I dare your social gathering to develop the subject interior the Parliament with evidence. yet you recognize you haven't any and that's the reason you do it right here. Pathetic attempt to create a Dalit votebank for Congress by divisive politics.

Wow, your question and attitude are horrible. I have a beautiful girl that is severely handicapped and the joy of my life. I feel blessed to have her. She will be dependent on me for her entire life but I still think I am lucky to have her. And you are not "stuck". There are govt programs that help you pay for all medical/equipment costs, SSI is paid, respite is paid (you get paid to care for your child or you can pay someone while you do errands, etc.), and so on. Lots of these kids get adopted. And there is a lot I get in return. I actually think your attitude are sick and scary and be careful because it might happen to you.

I quess it depends on how you look at things.
I met an older couple in their late 70's who had a retared daughter in her early 30's. They were crazy about her but afraid about what will happen to her when they are gone. The women didn't expect to get pregnant late in life.
They were trying to make her as independent as they could.

Ummm...wow.

This has to be the most selfish, shallowest post I have read to date. To think that IF you gave birth to an impaired baby, you would be online looking for a way to get rid of it. You should, for the goodness of all future children, sew your crotch shut to prevent any possible way for you to conceive.

And one more thing...your parents did not give you up because it is quite obvious you have developed a defect of the soul.

I read a very moving book on this subject by Tim Parks. The title was "Goodness". It presented the trauma of someone whose life was overturned by this event and of how he eventually reacted. I would recommend it as a very interesting read. http://www.timparks.com/7.html

Um, wow, ugh!!!

I, who have tried to have a child for 5+ years, would happily take any child who needed a home and a family to love him/her. i don't know why you would think that people wouldn't want to adopt a handicapped child. Perhaps that is your reality, but it isn't mine.
