Jenny awoke during the night to find that her husband was not in bed.She went downstairs looking for him. He was sitting at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee in front of him. He appeared to be in deep thought, just staring at the wall. She saw tears rolling from his eyes as he sipped his coffee.

"What's the matter with you, my dear? Why are you down here at this time of the night?" she asked.
"Do you remember twenty years ago when we were dating and you were only 16?" he asked.
"Yes, I do," she replied.
"Do you remember when your father caught us while dating?"
"Yes, I do remember," she replied.
"Do you remember when he shoved that shotgun in my face and said, "Either you marry my daughter or spend twenty years in jail?"
"Yes, I do," she said, getting a little teary- eyed herself at his fond recollection.

He wiped another tear from his cheek and said, "You know... I would have been released today."

God yes. I would definitely marry my husband again! We have been together thirteen years and have been married eleven. The only thing i would like to change would be getting married some where else. It was nice in the registry office but these days people are getting married in really lovely hotels etc and or at least having their reception in a hotel and the marriage in church. Would love to have done that. My husband is great, the best and would do it all again if the need arose. Of course i can't speak for him though!!

Poor guy!
Well my husband and I are going to celebrate our 46
wedding anniversary on the 19th. So it's coming up soon. But
I've got the flu and don't think I'll be able to get over it that
soon to celebrate it. But if I can't, then we'll just have a nice
dinner and enjoy what we can. At least, we're together, and
that's what the day is all about.

LOL That pretty much sums up my marriage. I got pregnant when I was 17 and our families insisted we had to get married. It was a terrible mistake for both of us. We stayed in the marriage for 20 years, but when he came home and said he felt like he had never lived, I agreed and we did our own divorce. I could not wait to get out of that marriage. Hope yours was or is better than that.

Funny and unfortunate. Kudos to those of us who made it stick. I'm one of those who had a few life sentences commuted. It's the reason I'm celebrating so wonderfully today. Sadly for me even the third time wasn't a charm but I'm not a quitter.

I was married forty years, then the love of my life passed away from a long battle with breast cancer, I miss her! I didn't ever want to be released.

Sorry for the downer, but marriage does work out for some of us.

Was this a joke for real? Maybe I didn't get it. But my first marriage lasted 6 months. My second - one year......my third - ain't gonna happen. Cause I learned my lessons. I am not going to do this again.

30 years until She died -- dated 2 others after wards but they were gold diggers and left me after they took my money like the song of Runaround Sue said.
