Have you ever fired someone? was it fun? and why?

Thats part of my job and its the part I hate most! I just hate being the one to make someones world come crashing down! Some people get mad, some cry and its a really hard thing to do to someone else. UNLESS they r like stealing- then I have no problem getting rid of their butts!!!

From someone who has dismissed dozens I say it isn't fun but generally satisfying. I always lay the ground rules for them initially. In other words, it is spelled out clearly what they can do to lose their job and what is required to keep it. I also tell them up front that when/if they are dismissed it is because they have in essence fired themselves.

Kind of sort of. I did fire them, but they didn't lose their job. They just the position they had that put them with me.

Back when I was in the military. I was a patrol commander in Afghanistan. I didn't like one of the guys I was assigned and I fired him. He's still a soldier, just not under my command.

I didn't really enjoy it. I hate being a prick. But it DID mean life or death for me and my guys so I didn't lose any sleep over it.

Yes, You never enjoy firing somebody you hired and became friends with, that has been a loyal hard working employee. He was caught stealing.

no it's not fun..

i know how much people depend on their job as income and how much I depend on it.. it was one of the worst things (at work) ive ever had to do.

yes i have and i didnt do it becasue it was fun but beacsue his lazy *** didnt get to work and i had to take the crap of him not going to work and work instead of him so i fired his ***
