I'm worried I might be taking too much Vitamin C because I heard from someone saying that it differs by height. I'm 24 and I'm 5'0, I also weigh 96lbs. I heard that honey is healthy for you too is that true?

Raw honey has the most health benefits. Vitamin c is not stored in the body. It has many functions from immunity ,collagen formation, cancer prevention and treatment, gum health, hormone and amino acid synthesis, adrenal gland hormones, and wound healing. The dose does not differ according to height. It's possible to take up to 5 or more 1,000 mg tablets a day, especially during a cold or flu. The first symptom of too much vit c is generally diarrhea, which disappears when the dosage is reduced.

First of all, being 24 and 96lbs. has to be unhealthy in the first place. No, 1000mg of Vitamin C isn't bad for you...it'll help your body fight off infection by increasing your internal defense system. Honey does have some slight health benefits, but they aren't effective enough for practical use.

YES HONEY IS A HEALTHY nutrient , and for what it is worth bacteria will not grown in it. Many years ago bodies were packed in honey when they had to be transported for long distances because it would stop deterioration of the body. On a exposed wound it will protect from bacteria if you are every out in the wild and have some honey and no medicine.
However, it is filled with calories.

Vitamin C is a good nutrition but not in pill form. You receive more C from the good foods you eat than from the artificial, fragmented, patented "c" in the OTC stuff. As soon as "c" hits your system it is damaged and becomes a free radical charging about your body looking for another neutron to steal from other cells and does a lot of damage. Excessive "c" is toxic without the proper balance of "e".

Leave off the patented, artificial stuff and get a good diet going.

Honey is good for you, it has lots of B vitamins in it. Some people eat honey from local bees to help relieve their allergy symptoms.

You will know if you are taking too much Vit C. You'll probably get diarrhea.

Honey is the only common sweetener that is hardly ever refined.

Caution: if you are diabetic, or overweight, remember that honey does have a lot of sugars in it. It is about 73.5% fructose, which should never be used by itself, but honey contains other things that help you to digest the fructose.

Honey has the advantage over sugar that it doesn't raise blood sugar to dangerous levels, but of course, there are limits. However you are unlikely to enjoy drinking honey, as I've seen some Paraguayans do.

Infant formula made with honey is high in calcium and magnesium. Your bones need magnesium as well as calcium. The hard outside of your teeth uses magnesium, and the soft inside uses calcium, so for babies develloping teet, a good balance of Ca/Mg is essential.

If you want a non-fattening sweetener there is a South American herb whose leaves are about five or ten times as sweet as sugar. You can buy it in powder for, and as long as you don't mind the green colour it's great. The flavor may take a little getting used to. It is called Stevia - not to be confused with Stevioside which a concentrated extract about a thousand times as sweet. Even though I've heard nothing about side effects of Stevioside, how could you measure out one thousandth of a teaspoon of sugar to sweeten your drink?

Some of the things that aren't usually refined out include 3.5% proteins, minerals, vitamins, acids and natural flavor. These are in tiny quantities, but they should be.

Honey contains evzymes used by the body to activate chemical reactions such as digestion

You can't take too much vitamin C. If you take more than your body can use, it will get filtered out. Personally, I prefer more natural sources for my vitamin C, and if you're trying to get over a sickness with it, you're probably better off with echinacea anyway. You shouldn't be in any trouble from it though.
Honey is great for sore throats, boosting the immune system, and sobering up quickly.
Good luck :)
