In your home, electric potential is in numerous appliances. (go ahed an name some common ones if you want.) Can you name some interesting or uncommon devices that have an intriguing electric potential? And give me its votls and amps...

Thanks

Shh.. let me tel you a secret. I just hope that no one is eves dropping. Okay ...It seems like no one is there ... so:
1. There is no electric potential in the appliance.
2. There is electric potential in the your household electric circuits if you paid your electric bill.
3. If you rub two dielectric surfaces together they will rob some electrons off each other and creating an impressive potential of a few thousands volts. That may be a bit shocking however no one died by being zapped ... yet!
I think you are pulling my leg... if not then be prepared to suffer
In general:
the force between to charges q1 and q2 separated by distance R is
F=k q1q2/R^2 where k is just a constant
The electric field generated by a charge q2 at the point where q1 is
E= F/q1 or E= k q/R^2
finally we cane to the potential
V= ER= k q/R
and the difference in potential is
V2-V1= kq(1/R2-1/R1)

are you still alive and well? Sorry to have disapoint you that there is no "interesting or uncommon devices that have an intriguing electric potential". Potentil is potential.

Have fun!

Two examples of these

CD player: 0.1 amps flowing through it, 4 volts across it

Strobe light: 0.05 amps flowing through it, 110 volts across it
