My marriage is the BEST 'gift' I have ever recieved. I was NOT looking for a man, and was 'best friends' with a man who was NOT looking for a woman. We decided to 'slowly explore the romantic path' after a long talk ... but HE didn't hear the 'slowly' ... two weeks later, after spending the whole night AWAKE THINKING he decided I was his 'one and only one woman in his life forever' ... we are now planning our 11th anniversary in February. Our anniversary is on Valentine's Day, because HE wanted to get married on a day that came with 'automatic reminders' and what a better 'reminder' could there be than all of the 'hearts and flowers' in the store windows and displays? We are older (I'm 57, he's 50) but the two of us feel like we are perpetual newlyweds who are 'both going on five years old' when we are together. Yes, he does buy me great gifts ... and I buy him great gifts, but ONLY because we can finally afford the gifts. We have been homeless together, before, and if we are homeless again someday, that really doesn't matter ... we are TOGETHER forever and beyond, and THAT is the 'BEST GIFT' ... for which we both thank God every day.
