Overall i tend to agree with this , i guess people get caught up in the moment of bidding. You really do need self discipline on ebay !! :)

Thats quite an uniformed question. There are lots of reasons to shop on eBay. There is the convenience of it which saves money by saving time, eBay makes products available that are not readily available in a particular market or are rare, and there are many products that are just plain cheaper. Vendors can often sell for less because they do not have to pay for retail space.

i know i find it hard to believe that some ppl will bid for an item and then pay a small fortune in p&p and it works out £20 or more expensive than from argos. having said that i have had some real bargains on there this year but you have to be careful i think some ppl get a bit carried away !

It all depends on what you buy. I research the product before buying on ebay to see what I can get it for in stores. Somethings aren't available in stores for example vintage items and ebay is the only place to shop. Sometimes it's better for me to pay a little extra on ebay than to fight the crowds in the stores this time of year!

Well if you are dumb enough to buy something off Ebay without checking what the original price is, then yes, you are an idiot! But, if you are smart enough to check that information beforehand, then you will know what is a cheaper deal!
Of course if you are looking for something that you just can't find anywhere else (ie. the Nintendo Wii) then some people are just willing to spend an arm and a leg to get it!

LOL I always show my Mom the eBay song by Al Yankavich because she always wants junk. She bought a toaster and thought she was getting a deal, it came, she plugged it in and it started sparking. LOL I used to sell on eBay. People will buy just about anything. My favorite, absolute favorite is the haunted or possessed dolls that they sell. Look up "possessed dolls" on eBay if you are in the mood to laugh.

Because that isn't always how it happens? I've gotten lots of good deals on ebay, in which I paid less for a product (including shipping) than I would have paid in a store.

Not always, and some people don't like shopping. It all depends what you are buying. One thing I have noticed. You can get antiques cheaper on EBay than in the charity shops!
