I don't know...maybe its a 'mother' thing. I can tell you this though, the one thing I despise...no...absolutely hate, is when I'm talked to in that clipped, stacato, school-marmish tone that's more of a lecture and not discussing anything in a normal tone of voice.
So...thats when I tune in to 'selective hearing'. Bull...can't talk to me like an adult than don't talk to me at all.

I'm in the same boat as you. You rephrase it so much better than I do, though--I say that I'm changing his diaper all the time, wiping his a**. I have two children and I work more than their father does. He stays home with the kids while I work eight hour shifts, and that's great, but when I get home, he hands it all over to me. He never makes dinner or does anything for the kids when I'm home, he doesn't clean either. Then, he tells me that he's tired and gets cranky because he had to watch the kids all day. Are you kidding me?! I bust my butt from 7 AM to 11 AM doing everything, but he's tired and whining about it? I've always been told that older guys are more reliable and responsible, but I am starting to wonder...

I always joke that I have 3 kids because my husband DOES act like a child 85% of the time. When it's time to clean, he hides in another room, when its time to do the dishes, he decides he needs to do yard work....when he's sick he is THE most pathetic person ever in the whole wide world. Even if it's the sniffles...my husband plays Playstation, hits the snooze button too many times, won't wake up if someone doesn't get him up....
So is the bigger question: why do some men act like children and why do us women put up with it?
As much as most of us complain, we love our husbands and children just the same. I love my husband, imperfections and all. I'm not perfect and neither is he. Simply said...

They do it because there husbands allow this type of behavior first and foremeost. If I wanted a child I will have on my husband is not a child and I don't treat him as such. Secondly, as a man he is not having it because to me that is direspectful and any man allowing his wife, mother, friend or whomever treat him like a child has some self esteem issues.

Because they wish to be in control at all times. I know I get embarassed for the men when the wives treat them like this in public. But, who knows; perhaps the man was looking for a mother figure and got one.

some men act like children
play video games all day instead of fixing a leaking toilet or cleaning the kitchen; don't contribute financially; don't help around the house at all; don't act responsible in any way...
my hubby wants a puppy right now & wont' take "wait till after the baby is born & a few months old at least" for an answer... takes money out of my savings that is supposed to be for when i take time off after the baby is born... won't help out around the house... won't help pay the bills...
considering he's not acting like a responsible adult, how can i treat him like one?!?

I think some women see there husband just at their child, they are 'their's', what they say is what they do, how much allowance they get, what time to get home, so on and so on.... Why? Because their husbands let them... maybe they like to be dominated and told what to do.... but not me.
