Absolutely!!! Marvin was supposed to be the defensive GURU and yet that has continued to be their weakness throughout his tenure!! He doesn't seem to have any control over that clubhouse and his willingness to have players on his team that were of "questionable" character has come back to bite him in the butt. Of course they have had CRITICAL injuries on defense, especially to their draft picks but all teams suffer this way. They were well on their way to becoming a Colts like team with a prolific and consistent offense that had a co-ordinator that wouldn't need to be touched. Marvins job was to run the rest of the team and instill his defensive imprint on the team. Neither have happened. Quarterbacks like Carson Palmer don't come around very often and the window of opportunity is going to shut soon. This is just like the Colts under Jim Mora when Manning first started there. That organization realized that they could not afford to squander the time-frame they had under Manning. I hope my Bengals realize this soon and make similar decisions. I'm tired of the bad press. The Bengals fans are some of the best in the Country and deserve much more.

Hard to coach a team full of a bunch of losers drafted by the GM. Hard to coach a team when guys are always getting suspended for personal conduct violations. Hard to coach a team full of self promoting egomaniacs like Chad Johnson. Having said that, I think the Cincinnati ownership should just clean house and start over. Everyone except Carson Palmer should go!

well they do have themselves a discipline problem now dont they , half the team gets arrested or on probation , it's tough to win games like that .

well if you got rid of lewis who would you bring in
Bill Cowler - think he could instill some discipline in them ,but would he coach a team across the pond and in the same division as the Steelers

Dennis Green- although didnt get a fair shake in Arizona , hasnt been known to be a good disciplinarian .

Bill Parcells - Now he could do it , build that team up in 3 years then leave again and the next coach would come in and get all the credit .

Jim Mora Sr - Now there yah go give a career .500 coach a career .500 team its the perfect fit

they have great talent on OFFENSE not defense. thats where they suffer most. theres only so much marvin lewis can do, ultimately the game is won by the players not the coaches. the coaches arent the ones making or in the bengals case missing tackles and giving up big plays. if anything you can fire the defensive coordinator or start drafting good defensive players or getting some via free agency.

Absolutely! Nothing against Lewis but he can't control his players on or off the field. That team has the talent of a team that should be in the playoffs but instead they are scraping the bottom of teh barrell. The players don't get along and they aren't a team they are a bunch of individuals. The whole team needs restructuring top to bottom.

Why blame the coach? Look at performence by the players. If Carson isn't hurt he isn't a top notch QB. Chad talks more than he plays and the D hasn't stepped it up.

Maybe ship off a few players for draft picks and get a team that doesn't need the spotlight

This pains me as a Bengals fan, but yes. This team plays with no heart, discipline, consistency or focus. There's no questioning their talent, but they already look like a team that's ready for the end of the season (their sleepwalking performance against the 49ers is inexcusable). I'm just glad Miami already won a game, because they will beat us in the finale.

No. He had a bad season but do we forget all the stuff that went down in the off season? Before this year we were talking about how good of a job he did rebuilding them. People are too quick with this kind of talk.
