Isn't it retarded when guys always say they like "asians, arabs, latinas, etc." because they are "exotic" and they don't include blacks in that category (which is stupid because blacks are probably the most distinct race and we look radically different from everyone else)? The racism on this site is getting retarded...just because there are those ignorant "ghetto fabulous" black girls doesn't mean we are all like that; they ruin it for the rest of us. If people look, they can see there are plenty of educated respectable blacks. I don't know why I'm making a big deal out of this when this is how white people want us to feel. Maybe I'm just ugly I don't know. Just because you're black even if you are prettier than most girls (asian, latina, arab, etc.) you'll still be dubbed uglier because of ethnicity; A pretty black girl equals a mediocre girl of another ethnicity. I am definately NOT racist...racism is for the uneducated...I was just explaining from my viewpoint. I don't have a flat nose, fuzzy hair, or a wide forehead. I have been told I'm pretty plenty of times but i feel it's probably because I don't have a flat nose, fuzzy hair, or a wide forehead...it's like i'm pretty because i'm not really "black"

I know their are Black girls that are better then the 'ghetto' class. I would know 'cause I'm guessing where I live (South London), most Americans would call it that. Yes, most people here are Black, yes most of my friends are black and to be honest I don't have ANY White friends. It's not because I'm racist it's just because there are only a handful of white girls at my school. But none in my class...

I have to admit most girls do act in a ghettoish way, looking like they're gonna fail their exams and just act crazy. BUT there are girls that are soooo smart and I know they're gonna go a long way in life :)

I have to say there are so many pretty Black girls, all of differant complexions from light to dark!! I do get jealous LOL

Some Guys are retarded. You'll just have to accept that. Some are not. Try to find them instead of listening to those others. It sounds like you've been listening to a lot of negative things. I don't think that a skin color adds a faction of 'ugly' any more than a skin color adds a faction of 'beauty'. Isn't it all in the eye of the beholder, anyway? I'm white and I don't want anyone to feel bad on my account at all. I'd like it actually if everyone feel pretty good most of the time and were in a good mood. It might help me with my own mood, which is pretty dark most of the time. As for ugly skin color, I'm pale with dark patches of red, like on my face and arms. I think you've been dealing with a lot of negative thoughts, you should ignore them and go about your way. Forget society!

I don't think its just white people you get that kind of bigotry from..there are plenty of people within a race that give preferential treatment to those who are socially exceptable at the time. I think its up to people in general to stop being so superficial about what makes you "beautiful" or exotic. I've seen white people that have an exotic look to me so it doesn't stop in one particular race. On another note..I happen to think Paula Patton is a beatiful woman and her husband is white as can be so not everyone has a narrow mind.

You seem to be a quite intellectual and intelligent woman...so with intelligence like you expressed above, why do you allow the stereotypes of such an ignorant and narrowminded society to affect your perception of beauty? You, of all people, should understand that the image of beauty is not built upon the opinion of the common man as much as the opinions of select individuals with either an interest in the object of beauty or the influence to rally the public to their cause. So go home today and ask your spouse whether you're beautiful or not, since that is the person whose opinion you should value the most.

Just for clarification purposes though, if you look half as good as that picture, you are extremely beautiful.

People consider Asians (western and oriental Asians) "exotic" because their population in the US is rather small. About 5% of the population is Asian versus 12% of blacks.

I do find that oriental Asians are not as pretty as other girls of other ethnicity. They age better and have a "cute" appeal, but I do not believe they can be classified as "beautiful."

Either way, who really cares about society and its ideals? They are often misleading and degrading towards women. If a guy won't date you for your race, then you're probably better off without him.

I think that is crazy...You sound , by the way you are typing, very educated. Your not totaly getto and use a whole bunch of slang and people should respect that. I hate it how people are rascist. Whats the need? everybody is a person and we should not be judged by othere peoples actions. If a few black people are juddged it does not mean that all blacks should be but in that catergory. Its true, there are alot of Ghetto blacks and they do get catorgorized, but there are a lot of blacks like you that dont get recognized. So you are complaining because you feel black people aren't included on the exotic list of races? Why must you? So what if black people don't make the list. White people usually don't either, you don't see us complaining. Its because of situations like this that there is racism today.

I don't know who these "guys" are who prefer "exotic" women but seemingly exclude black women from the spectrum. Sex appeal is certainly subjective, and "exotic" is a relative term- Japanese food is exotic to me, a native Floridian, but to a person in Japan, it's as exotic as a hot dog. I understand your basic point, BUT you are talking about a very vague, non specific group of non people almost- these "guys" who supposedly prefer exotic but not black women. So yes, you make a valid point, but you are over-reacting.

No, not retarded at all. Everybody has preferences. It is naive to pretend you don't have any.

Having a racial preference for mates is not racist, any more than having a preference for blondes or tall people. When we get attracted to someone, part of it is physical attraction. And physical attraction is dependent on physical features, which do vary by race, among other things.

Of course, other than physical appearance, there are many other qualities we rely on when choosing mates. However, when you first meet someone, their physical appearance is generally your first impression.

Also, physical appearance includes your attitude. A person who is insecure will not look as good as a confident person.
