My incentive to work is:
1. Make money for my family
2. Serve my clients
3. Make a difference
4. Achieve personal excellence
While the government could take away my financial incentive to work, they could not affect my personal ambitions.
This is a conversation I have with my sister. Both our husbands make enough money that we could get by with staying home. She has chosen to stay home and not work. But I have chosen to work because I love what I do and get personal fulfillment from it. Just my personal opinion.

I work because I always have. I didn't come from a family that was raised on the government nipple. I personally like the feeling at the end of the day that I gave 100 percent on my job.
If the work incentive was removed by the government we would crash and burn fast. Who is going to pay for all the deadbeats that keep having kids they can't or won't take care of?

To answer your question;
My incentive to work is to provide for my family and I. If the government rewards those who does not work as I do by wealth distribution then yes, that would effect my incentive to work. Why strive to excel when you get no better for your effort. That is why socialist governments have failed through out history.

I highly doubt the government would be able to remove it.
#2 Love for the type of work I do.
I highly doubt the government would be able to remove that.
#3 A decent salary that provides for my family.
The only way the government would remove that if they instituted socialism, which would solve the same problem.
Sorry, but the theories based on the laffer curve, only hold accurate to people who hate their jobs in the first place.

My incentive to work is driven by my needs and desires. I "need" shelter, but I "wanted" a nice house. I "need" transportation, but I "wanted" a Lexus. Get the picture.
The problem is that the government, through an excess of Socialist entitlement programs will tax me so much that I won't lose my incentive, I will lose my means.

i will purely supply examples from a "loose" medicare equipment long previous horribly incorrect. way up right here interior the large white north... government worker unions have "earned" maximum of advantages and wages that it makes much less costly experience for us to deliver scientific institution laundry to a neighboring province fairly than having it laundered in present centers on internet site. have been given an ear an infection? can't circulate directly to the "Ear, nostril & throat" expert you ultimately will could see... pre and submit visits on your extensive-unfold MD are required (and billed consequently) i could circulate on with different government run agencies run amok.. yet those 2 examples could suffice. docs and Nurses should be paid nicely, yet giving them an open checkbook while they frequently in simple terms "artwork to rule" has brought about a old shaped little word; "Tax me, i'm Canadian" edit; ((Sandy)) we've some private scientific centers besides in case you desire to pay, (and omit the long cues) and particular.. we too could first see our GP. yet Why? Is it mandatory? If the centers are approved and bonafide.. what provider does a pre/submit circulate to to a GP serve? None. i've got had to leap by those hoops before and discovered not something from those pre/submit visits different than the equipment is set as much as can charge money to the taxpayer.

My incentive to work is that I like to eat, and I need to do something to ensure that I continue to receive the nutrients required to sustain my life.
If the government were to just provide the food to me, I would have to ask how?
I think I can speak for most folks here when I say that most folks do not like to work out of the kindness of their hearts. So, why would someone work to provide me food?

I like mbush40's answer.
Though some don't consider it a "real" job, I stay at home making a little money here and there, relying on my husbands income to support the needs of our family . . . .
I work very hard to raise my children, that they will launch from my home as good citizens of our country. I love my job.
Though I would still love my children, I would hate the new lessons I'd have to teach them if our government completely fell to the socialist ideology.

My incentive is that I have a great job. I do it because I love it. The government can't take that incentive away from me.

My incentive is to live a comfortable life. If everything was provided for me, I'd spend most of my day at a gym getting in shape.
