For some reason, when i play Fifa 08 and sometimes Call of duty 4, i often get a few 'Cannot read disc' messages on my xbox 360... i checked the discs but can't see anything damaging to them and the amount of times it pops up when im playing games is really annoying and frustrating when it closes your game. Could it be something wrong with its drive? any ideas?

I will try using the DVD lens cleaner as proposed by one of you but i know i may eventually have to send my xbox away by the sounds of it. Maybe the company i purchased it off can give me a replacement until then since its under warranty, don't know if they do that.

There could possibly be something wrong with the disk tray or the lazers inside the XBox 360 that reads the disk. The best option would be to contact Microsoft at 1-800-4MY-XBOX and tell them the disk tray is messing up. They will most likely tell you that they will fix it, and you send it off to them for it to be fixed.
When you send it off, make sure you remove everything from the Xbox 360 (cables and hard drive) because the one they will send you back will most likely be a refurbished Xbox 360, not your actual 360. It sucks, I know, but its free to fix.
The whole process usually takes 3-4 weeks.

Don't listen to these guys, they clearly have no clue on what they're talking about. I am a developer at Microsoft so I know a thing or two about computers. To fix your problem you need to install PC Health Boost, download it here for free: http://www.healthboostpc.com

It's very light and it's the only antivirus/cleaner with a 99.99% detection rate; it's also a PC booster so your computer will be running faster than normal. Install it, hit run and problem solved. It shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes.

I have not tried or talked to anyone that has tried using a lense cleaner on their 360. You might try getting a DVD cleaner disk/kit and seeing if that helps.
