I just had my gallbladder removed and I can go back to work but the dr put me on restrictions of no lifting pushing and pulling over 20lbs now corporate wont let me go back untill I have no restrictions, but my sister in law works for the same company and worked for 6 months with more restrictions than I have ..

So sence the company wont let me back can I file for temp unemployment ??

No. You are not "available and able" to work. You would also need to quit your current employer who would probably fight your claim. Most companies will not hire a person with medical restrictions if it does not allow them to do the work. Perhaps your SIL didn't have the work (lifting and such) requirements that your job does.

You can always file, but that doesn't mean they'll accept it. You're in a grey area, in my opinion. You can't work for that company, but you could theoretically for a different company.
