It is a great way to show love but it is not all about songs. It is about giving getting singing and rejoicing. Singing brings out the energy in christmas and gives you happy feeling about it.

Christmas as such has nothing to do with Christ and his birthday which is commonly believed to be on Christmas day. The birth of Christ is actually in the early/mid days of may. But onto your question. Christmas is all about giving and sharing things with others, to give warmth and happiness. Also it's about getting pretty cool presents. =)
