Am I the only person who doesn't see how being the president's wife is supposed to prepare you to be president? if you throw out being the wife of the president, she has no more experience than Edwards or Obama

I disagree that her only experience is being the wife of the President. She may actually be more intelligent than Bill was and it is well known that he confided in her and trusted her as one of his advisers. This puts in her the role of unofficial adviser. While she may not be able to put that on her resume, it does add up to real experience. In addition, throughout her career, she has chaired numerous directing boards and partnered a couple of law firms. So she does have experience being the boss.

However, I don't believe that her experience will make her a better president than Obama. Aptitude trumps experience. A person with genius IQ doing a job for only a month can easily outperform an average IQ person doing the same job for a year. So experience becomes relevant only amongst those who possess nearly equal intelligence. Obama, because of his high level of intelligence will not only learn the job faster, but be far more capable of making better decisions than any other candidate running whether democrat or republican.

I'm not a Hillary supporter, but I believe that spending 8 years in the White House having daily conversations with the President and learning from his experience and insight does give her some sort of perspective on the role of president.

Edwards and Obama have more political experience than she does anyway.

Hillary is not the person we need in the White House. She will bring only more of the same corporate control and political doublespeak that has been the hallmark of the presidency for the last quarter century.

Good question and I admit I don't know the answer. I'm sure she feels ready to lead but I don't know of anyone who will follow her. Isn't being a leader largely getting people to do what they are supposed to be doing? If no one follows you aren't a leader Hill no matter how ready you think you are.

They are now saying that Obama has a better chance of being president than she does. That's not saying much.

What you are "throwing out" is actually important. She has met most of the foreign leaders and knows the in's and out's of dealing with them. You cannot live with someone without picking up on what to do and what not to do. I feel she is very intelligent even though she is not my choice for the office.
