Crazy is pretty much anything out of the ordinary, where is insane is a medical reference.

Crazy is more of a loose term. Insane is a technical and medical term.

When used loosely, they mean pretty much the same thing. When used specifically or technically, "crazy" doesn't really have a meaning. A person that is "insane" has been deemed such by a professional in the field of psychiatry.
