How can I connect Electric Potential and Potential difference with math?

potential difference is the difference between to different electrical potentials.

V (potenial difference) = V1 - V2

you can also do it the other way round, depends on the system and the charge on the species present.

What links electric potential with potential difference is voltage; & if you look up 'voltage' in the Wikipedia the mathematics is there.
