Sol is the name of our sun in the official star charts. Because of the different time it takes the various planets to revolve on its axis, NASA refers to a day on a different planet as a sol. So 90 sols means 90 martian days. Because a martian sol is about 40 minutes longer then a day on earth 90 sols comes to 96 and a half days.

A "sol" is the word used to describe a day on Mars. It lasts about 24 hours and 40 minutes, about 43 minutes longer than a day here on Earth.

The word Sol refers to the Sun. The technical name of our star is Sol.

I would think that "Sols" refers to Solar Days. Solar days refer to the time a day takes on whatever planet is being considered.
