I think that since you are learning, the chances of you speeding and driving like a maniac are slim. I see where he's coming from though. I'd wait if I were you. Plus, if it's snowy where you live, the roads are more dangerous. You have a good man who wants to keep his family safe!

I can see no good reason not to go ahead with driving lessons right now. A pregnant woman is not a fragile person needing to be kept hidden away from life's normal occurrences. A baby is very well protected in the womb surrounded by the amniotic fluid. You could be in a car accident with "your man" driving the car. If you wear your seat belt low on your lap and high across your chest, the risk to the baby is minimal if you are in a car accident. Your anxiousness about driving is only going to ease by practicing as much as possible. The more your are comfortable and confident, the easier it gets. I think it would be better to take lessons, practice, and get your license now before the baby comes. Afterwards, your time will be mostly taken up by the baby and it will take you considerably longer to fulfill your dream of passing your driving test. Out of necessity, I learned how to drive a stick shift when I was 22 years old and 8 months pregnant with our second child. My husband took me to an empty parking lot to teach me and let me practice. I was pretty nervous, but I am glad I did otherwise I would have been stuck at home with a 2 year old and an infant since that was the only car I had available to drive.

OMG! We are both due in may and taking driving lessons, lol. Yoll be fine. My doctor said it's fine as long as you keep the seat belt under your bump.(my myspace is myspace.com/ashlie_rated_xxx if you wanna talk)

I don't think there's anything wrong with learning to drive right now. Just make sure to be safe and drive cautiously! Good luck with your pregnancy and baby!!
