Maybe you need a break for a while. When u feel you're ready to take it again you should feel more confident about it and assure yourself that you will do better than before....

Is it always with the same teacher?
Teachers will help you out if they understand your situation.
Go to rate my professors.com and find the easiest one that teaches the class at your school.
Then after the first day go to office hours and explain what happened. Then be at every class early.
Go to office hours at least once a week and ask a question. Even if you already know the answer.
Suck up to the professor a little. Tell them they did a really good job explaining something that you've been confused about. Ask about extra credit and do it. It sounds like just a little more effort will get you over the hump.
Don't put off taking the class again. You don't want to be finished with everything else and still need this class and the English classes that come after it.
Really buckle down and give it more time and effort next time.
good luck,
Former U professor,

Never give up. Have a talk with your teacher and find out where she/he thinks your weak points are and does she/he have any suggestions about what you could do to do better. Learn how to study and spend enough time on homework until you know and understand what you are being taught. Sometimes it helps to do an outline of the chapter so that you can review important points easily and review much quicker. If you have questions, see your teacher after class and ask for extra help. I had trouble with math in high school and went back to college to get math. I found out that if I did my homework and spent an appropriate amount of time studying and reviewing, I had no problem. Here's some tips I got from a wonderful person long ago on how to raise your grade:
1. Say hello to your teacher when you walk into class or in the halls and always be polite to her/him. (She will have to say hello back and know your name, will be impressed with your manners, and that will help with the subjective part of your grade).
2. Sit in the front of the class and be prepared for class. (If you're not prepared or don't come prepared consistently, don't sit in front, they will see how unprepared you are and that will hurt you).
3. If the teacher asks a question and you know the answer, raise your hand and answer. (She/he will appreciate your participation and help in keeping the class rolling.) Answer at least one question per class.
Trust me. Those things will raise your grade one level easily. I used and it worked. . .

It depends on why you keep getting a C.
If you think it's because you're not working hard enough, then you might be able to get a B with some extra work.
On the other hand, if you just find it frustrating and difficult to understand, you might want to try doing something different.
Here's a tip: to improve the standard of your English, read as much as possible. Novels are better than newspapers, because newspapers (especially the cheaper ones) are often full of spelling errors. Agatha Christie novels can be helpful because they're easy to read.
Good luck!

Yes, keep trying! If you've taken it with the same instructor every time, try a different one. I don't mean to suggest that your instructor isn't good, but sometimes a different teaching style can make a difference. Also, if you have to take a standardized test, the problem could be test anxiety, and there may be test-taking workshops available to deal with it.
For what it's worth, your question is better written than many I've seen here!

If you are trying your hardest and your a good student then what you could do is make freinds with your prefessor it never hurts. When you dont know the answer raise your hand anyway, if a lot of others are. If he calls on you ask him a question that will challenge him indstead of answering it. Then again as lenin said study study and study. And as i said social life and entirnet is very powerful thing.

I think you should perhaps obtain some kind of tutoring before you attempt it again...I am sure you can do it...everyone needs a little extra help in some subjects...I certainly know where I excell in English and Music....I am not a Math expert and needed help in that area...Keep Trying......Good Luck!!

At my school, we only get 3 chances. If you think taking a break will help you, go ahead. Try taking a different teacher or something. Also, if you take a break, you will get farther behind, but if that doesn't bother you, then go ahead and break. Happy Holidays!

Not only should you keep going..... you need to talk with the faculty and ask what exactly it is that you are not getting. This will make your goals clearer for the class because you will know what the faculty expects from you ...... and you will be able to pass it.
