Are the people using computers getting more and more careless or is that too complimentary??

First before computers they didn't have the space to keep so much data
Second the data they did keep was in paper files which were always getting lost but probably seldom leaving the building
Third They employed highly trained staff with proper supervision

Now they collect data they don't really need in vast quantities which can be stored electronically and physically moved with ease.

Staff are trained to use keyboards rather than common sense, there aren't enough of them and there is not enough supervision.

Last because they can!

They probably always do lose a lot but perhaps to keep pace with all the losses, more leaks are coming out about them! We'll probably be hearing next that they've got all of Yahoo Answers on disk and that we'll all go missing soon as well.

What a pity they couldn't use a computer to sort out the "global warning " nonsense, instead of spending other peoples hard earned money on an extended trip to Bali.

Copies have gone missing, they still have the data.
There is more computer use than before and more contract staff.
