The emancipation of women and the struggle for equal rights in the West is far from over. Till this day women don't get the same pay for the same job not in Western Europe and not in the United States, that's a valid point.
However women have a right to vote work and all equal rights under the law. Our situation isn't perfect yet, far from it but compared to the places those women complain about we've come a long way. To equate the existing discrimination and objectification of women in the West wish I don't deny or want to minimize with the cruel and barbaric oppression in other parts of the world is not justified in my humble opinion.

Women in the United States have every right that women in Singapore are not afforded. Women here have the right to free speech, which is noticeably lacking in your country. Women here have the right to form political organizations of whatever kind they wish, and demonstrate. Can't do that in Singapore. Women here are free to choose their sexuality. Homosexuality is illegal in Singapore. Women here are allowed to speak of any religion as they please. You would be committing "sedition" over there. Also, be careful what you write on yahoo answers. The government over there might find it and punish you. Luckily, as you are not a male, you will avoid caning. However, you may still be imprisoned and fined.
