So I am down in Florida with my family. And, so there is this all 80s station on the radio, I LOVE listening to it (I know your shocked). I dont think anyone else in my family appreciates 80s music as much as I do. Are people my age (23) not as much into 80s music? Why is that?

I agree with NoWomanN-today's younger crowd is all into the dance party mixes and popular mainstream r&b mostly or the junk they call alt. rock these days (it was better when it first came out). It's all about what's fashionable to listen to.MTV & VH1 had the good MUSIC videos and not the garbage reality shows today. No, the 80s is still kept alive by us few who grew up during it, and really care about good music. The 80s is characterized around here by people who still rat or crimp their hair or have mullets or wear neon clothes, or jean jackets with tons of pins and holey jeans with fringes or fabric puff paint, etc.-ie: "You're stuck in the '80s" is what they've been deemed. I miss the easy going carefree time of the 80s-when movies and tv shows were good natured and no one blamed them for the corruption of our youth, because there WAS no cause. I loved the 80s and really miss it. The best years of my childhood were spent then.

Well I was 8-18 yrs old in the 80's!! I loved all different types of music from KISS to CHICAGO!!! It could be that they don't understand great music!!! My 14 & 12 yr old daughter's LOVE THE 80'S!! Since I am always listening to XM80 ( settle light radio) I also bought 4 CD's of the 80's. I also am wanting to get the sound track of the movie " HOT ROD" I just watched it for the 1st time and notice all those song that I have totally forgotten! I loved the music when it came on, more then the movie!!...lol
80's will always be around!!! if they like it or not!

Well I like the 80's music and I am a heck of lot older than you.. I think it takes an older person to appreciate all era's of music.. Growing up in the 60's I have heard it all.. I might not know who played or sang what but I still love it all..I even like some of the new stuff also and listen to it on my radio's.

im 24 and i totally feel ya! None of my friends are into the 80s stuff at all. When i talk about music with ppl and bring up the 80s bands i like ppl think im way older then i really am. lol. I think the 80s was one of the best years for good music...even back then you could turn on mtv and vh1 and see music and not reality shows lol

I am 22 and i absolutely love 80's music. I prefer to listen to that then anything else.

As you know Drew...I was a teen of the 80s and I love the music now just as much as I did then!!! I still listen to it and my 2 teens (15 & 18) have grown up listening to it with me and they both love it too!!! ;o)

i grew up with the 50.s 60.s 70.s and 80.s it seemed to go down after that....there are still some good tunes around but todays music ...to me....sounds repetitious and sometimes without meaning.........but ime just a old fart,,....what do i know....seamanab x
