my daughter is 16 and my father-in-law sent her a money order. can she cash the money order by herself or does she need an adult of 18 or 21 years or older?

to cash it for her. i am out of the contry and she is with her friends right now in san fransico, ca.

She should be able to cash it herself provided she has adequate identification. She may have problems finding a place to cash it if she doesn't have a bank account.

If it's a postal money order, she could cash it at any post office.

She will need to have a bank account, have someone with an account cash it for her, or alternately, go to a check cashing service or the customer service desk at WalMart.She will need ID.

dude ,she can go to a bank. some charge 5 bucks to cash that m.o.,not sure if a check cashing joint will do it. i am sure they will not give her any static as long as she has a id or dl,good luck
