If this is just the normal way of accounting then, I'm a little less terrified but, yikes you know.

Regardless of which party has been in power, this kind of error has been politically convenient for decades. Look up the history of the economic indicators M1 and M1a and how they are calculated and when and why M1a replaced M1. Check the dates and the changes in the way unemployment has been calculated. Check the original definition of prime rate and what they've been doing with that. I've been watching since the early 1970's and it continues. The point is, they believe their own numbers. If they have chosen improper techniques and are not even aware of it, then anything could happen.
If they have chosen improper techniques and are aware of it......

You know...it probably is true.... but since that is the way it has always been done you shouldn't be too upset about it. If it had always been done as the article thinks it should, then the Clinton years would have really sucked. Just because they use a different accounting system doesn't invalidate the data.

Its true. The majority of debt is in treasury bonds or treasury notes or something. Its like 80 trillion and rising.

Its affecting the world economy. Meaning the world economy is going to eventually collapse. This isn't all Bush's fault but he did contribute with the Iraq war and stuff.

cant help you, but I would not be surprised. I mean clearly one thing we have learned about the Bushovites is that they don't mind telling a few lies to have their way. Take their latest... A court had told them they could not destroy tapes of interrogation in Gitmo right? so CIA tapes where destroyed..guess what their stance is....that the tapes where of waterboarding going on in other secret jails other than gitmo...so therefore they are arguing that the order to desist destruction of tapes does not apply.

This is the logic of a criminal ..pure and simple.

No one knows what is true anymore. The Bush Administration is the most secretive Administration in the history of this country.

I would hope not. But who knows. No matter who they are, everyone is out to make Bush look bad. Whether he is or not isnt up to me. And its not like putting something like that on the internet will throw him out of office. He's out in a year anyhow. Suck it up and drive on.

If the national debt is that bad and you're really worried about it, vote Ron Paul in '08. He'll be the man that'll change it around.

Since we have a democrat reporting on a republican, I would have to say that the dem is stretching the facts a little. They have a tendency to do this during high visibility voter concerns.

I don't know. I need to check the credibility of the site. If it is true, hell, I cannot even end the sentence.

I can't. Funny this should be here. A group of friends and I were discussing the possibility of it being worse than we know.
