Entitlements are typically Dem programs, however the GOP got lambasted in the last election because they did spend more than they should have. Still they do not spend as much as Dems.

Our federal government is the largest it has ever been.
They BOTH outspend their ability to tax us to death.
And it isn't just entitlements, government EMPLOYEE pensions and healthcare account for nearly 30% of the budget and is only getting worse.
Soon we will be sending all our pay to Washington so that government workers can be paid for life.
Good luck to us all.

Shouldn't the real question be how much of the federal budget is actually funded versus how much is borrowed?
Republicans have a serious problem with spending while simultaneously cutting taxes. They are historically responsible for the largest increases in our national debt.
At least the Democrats don't spend what they don't have.

Traditionally Democrats do spend more than Republicans.
However, the current administration does not follow this tradition.
President Bush has not vetoed a single spending bill during his time in office - except one.... that was to deny millions of poor children healthcare.
So to answer your question - right now Republicans ARE outspending Democrats... however traditionally they are fiscally conservative. the republican idealogue must be changing - this is why the entitlements you speak of are democratic initiated programs.

So you're saying the NO republicans take advantage of "entitlements", that NO republicans are on social security? You know that's nonsense just as is idea that defense is "republican program".

Well, the problem with the recent republican congress is that it decided to spend like democrats while taxing like republicans. That's simply doesn't work. And since the President was a republican, only one bill got vetoed in six years.

Not in the federal budget. Less than 1% is spent on entitlement programs. 60%? What have you been smoking?
