statistics on homelessness?

My younger sister was living in her car for the last 5 years because she foolishly feel for a homeless guy.
She worked full time in a store but not enough to pay rent in Calif. and feed her loser boyfriend. He just flat out refused to work, he liked drinking and hanging out with other homeless while she was a t work.It had been going on for 4 years before the rest of our family knew how things where going for her.
She left her husband for this man! Hard to believe.
This last Thanksgiving, her husband who had since moved to the mid-west, drove to Calif. to ask her to come back to him and she did.Now she is sleeping in a bed for the first time in 5 years. I am happy that she finally woke up to the fact that her boyfriend was a selfish person who only cared about himself and his own good times.

not sure in the u.k. but in the u.s.a. they said 1 out of every 3 homeless is a veteran from selected services. that was on the news channel. i myself don't know...
