Do you not have renter's insurance? If so then let them pay your claim and go after the LL on the maintenance issue.
If not then take them to small claims court to PERHAPS recover part of your loss.
Compensation from either source will be the depreciated value.
ADDED
You have been told to withhold rent by several posters now and that is very bad advice unless you want to find a new home within 30 days.

Sad to say, your lack of attention to not having renter's insurance is going to cost you. The landlord is not responsible for burglaries which occur, broken window or not.
As far as others' advice as to withholding rents, don't do it, unless you want to find yourself on the streets shortly after the holidays. You cannot withhold rents from the landlord because YOU were burglarized. Do understand that you were aware that this window was broken, and apparently did nothing on your own to secure the apartment until it was burglarized.
Sorry to ruin your holiday, but those are the brutal facts of life.

communicate to the owner and enable her understand you require perfect notice. verify your hire to work out how lots notice you're able to be getting. the reality which you noted as for a fix did mean consent for her to circulate into, however the reality that it took see you later in between, she could have given notice lower back. besides the reality that the reality which you purely did not experience like getting up isn't her fault. i'd honestly set up a sort of door latches (not a deadbolt) on the interior that could be latched once you're abode to dodge get right of entry to. it may purely be latched from the interior on an analogous time as somebody is abode, so it won't intervene with get right of entry to in an emergency, so there should not be a topic with doing that. The vandalism and vehicle harm are actually not the owner's fault and he or she isn't responsible except you could instruct that she did it. they don't characterize grounds for breaking the hire.

This was last year? You hold some responsibility for not being on top of the problem. Here's what you do, next time they don't fix something in a timely manner, fix it and then deduct that amount from your rent - being sure to give the receipt to your landlord.

Take your police reports (you did report, right?), along with your request to your landlord to repair the window and your your next month's rent, and place the rent into an escrow account. Continue to send requests in writing for the repair. Continue to put your rent in escrow until your demands are met.
You sure have a lot of electronics.... whassup wit dat?

I agree that the window should have been fixed, but, fixed or not the theft was not cause by a broken window, it was criminals committing a criminal act.
Fixed or not if criminals wanted in they would have broken the window any way.

You should have gotten renter's insurance. Didn't the first break-in send a signal?
