Why does it look brown and red under the light?

I think my hair is jet black too...Im asian

My hair is jet black too but in sunlight it looks dark brown. Its the same with ALL the people I know with black hair. Its just the way the light reflects off your dry hair. If you apply a little oil, like olive oil or coconut oil, to the hair, you'll see its black :)

Because it isn't truly black. I was born with jet black hair and it is jet black under the light. You most likely have dark brown hair with lighter hues in it.

my hair's just the same! and i've never coloured it.. Maybe ur hair isn't jet-black. It's just a darker brown..
