Non-americans please answer...?

Question

I have several friends who are european born but are going through the process of becoming US citizens so they really won't tell me the truth.

What do non-americans think of americans? Are we seen as lazy? Lucky? Lacking culture? No offense will be taken by any comment given...this is strictly opinions.

They say that curiosity killed the cat....so meow. ^.^

I think the American lifestyle can be shallow and materialistic but the are also hard working people. They cannot be summed up as one because America is a melting pot of many cultures and races. As so many others have said a country cannot be viewed by only what is seen in the media.

Also when I look at the American lifestyle I see a bucket of crabs.

Generally,it's a matter mostly of culture,knowledge and respect
Everyone's different individually, so you never really know, what to expect

European culture is much older and many Americans seldom understand,
many of the things your learning ,have since past through our hands

Yes,Americans are seen as spoiled and immature too

I've never met an American in my life but I'm sure most are good people. I'm not going to stearotype calling them fat and stuff. All this starts from the media, so I've quit believing in it

i live in london but am from america.

in london at least americans are seen as 'not very bright'. so it doesn't matter what you say, if you have an american accent they will disregard what you have to say. the annoying thing is they think they are smarter than you on merit of where they are from, when they could be really dumb themselves!

of course if they are your friends it's different, and not everybody is like that. plus, i am school-age and so the people i am dealing with are a lot less mature than adults. good luck!

in my society americans r seen as :
dey act as dey have everything but actually americans (usa) don't have a goal on life. they don't have a real family life . nor a good culture ( now de world is aware of the things going on in ur campus everyday -mudering , raping , ) and to say it starts from primary school onwards.

and say abt ur achievments in tecnhnology all with ur exporting of highly educated professionals from asia.
ur industries work with asians brain and not urs.
