That they were all proudly bisexual and we are all homophobic (English archaeologists shoved the overwhelmingly ubiquitous--mostly phallic--sexual items in special cellars, in denial of the sexual realities of their revered ancients, erasing this part of Roman history... only recently unsealed and still little known).This info (not the book) has been presented in two history courses I've taken and I'm always shocked to realize no one knows.

This is a very enlightening, historical book that paints a truer portrait of a Roman city, one that even I would probably blush to wander through:

Seriously? That no society, no matter how advanced, or with what good intention they begin, can outlast the decline of its citizens and leaders own moral standards and principles.
