Yes i relize I used an older spelling of the name Dracula.
It is argueably the original form.
Does anyone have any early information on Vlad?
Other than the fact that he was raised by the Ottoman's?
Or perhaps the lengend that he lived on, a life after death.
Any information on life, or conquests.

I do know the basic details of Vlads life.
His wife did throw herself from the window of a tower because she did not want to be captured and made a slave by the Turks.
And the man, The Sultan, he was at war with was Sultan Mehmed ll.
I am speaking about more detailed information.
Things not of normality, common knowledge or story tales of course.

Vlad Tepes....below are three good sites about him. I tried for the story that the history channel had on him this past summer...it was very interesting...but you have buy it. Sorry. the third link is the best, imho.

About the only thing I know is that Vlad is considered the Hero of Romania and there are statues of him in the country. He was instrumental in keeping the Ottamans out of romania for a long time until he fell afoul of the other nobles in Romania. It was all down hill from there. I believe he spent a year or so in some nobleman's dungeon. The History Channel did a story on him awhile back. Maybe you can go to HistoryChannel.com and learn more.

I know that he built many palaces and he would cut off the ears of his prisoners. And this other kingdom, i think it may have been a middle eastern or Indian kingdom, but anyway that king wanted war with him and he gathered his army to attack Vlad and when they arrived at one of his palaces there were more that 1000 bodies impaled on spikes, some still alive and moaning and screaming. And that king just looked at it and turned around and went back home. Some other people were invading one of his palaces and his wife jumped out of a window into an icy river to kill herself so she wouldn't be captured.

he was some kind of king in tara Romaneasca a place from Romania and he was called dracula because he was killing the people which betrayed him.....you can find more information on wikipedia
