Alcohol is NOT the only drug that it is illegal to drive while under the influence. That's why the crimes are

DWI - Driving While IMPAIRED

DUI - Driving UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Neither of them is restricted to alcohol as being the ONLY substance causing the impairment or influence.

You can still be arrested and charged with driving under the influence. I don't know where you got your information but it is incorrect. Maybe you should study up and the laws a little more before you post stupid questions.

In this state we have the charge of:

DUII: Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants

it would be the charge you would face in court if intoxicated with legal drugs .

I have never driven sober in my life, so I don't understand the problem. I have never got points on my license or had a crash. QED.
You are right, of course, that we don't want hallucinating people on our roads.
