I just had my period and I only had one pad with me. And I'm out at school. During class I felt kind of wet and embarassed. When I went to pick up something the guys behind me laughed, and asked me if I was diseased I said no. The girls were laughing loudly, and I wondered what was so funny. Then I looked between my legs and saw BLOOD. I wanted to get out and cry and hate my womanly curse.

I went to buy some tampons and a pad for a dollar. And I was wondering if thats a good idea to put them together.

GIRLS WHATs should I do?! HELP!!!1

Well, at this point, you wander down to the office or the nurse's office and call your home; someone needs to come pick you up and take you home to get yourself cleaned up.

As for using a pad & tampon together, if you bleed this heavily (and it wasn't just a slip of the pad or you weren't using the proper absorbency), then by all means you can use both together. The cost of course would be double what you would spend normally, but at least you would be protected against future embarrassments.

Yes, while you should limit the length of time you wear a tampon, that time is not affected by whether or not you also use a pad. I always wear a pad with tampons for fear of leakage, and when I was a teen I had the same problem as you: needing both a tampon and a heavy pad (often an overnight pad) just to get through the morning at school (I would change tampon and pad at lunch).

it happens a lot at my school. well, just the fact that many girls in my school bleed heavily. usually, all the girls will just try to help out. y''know get pads from teachers or asking around from other girls. normally in times like these, the girls sort of cooperate coz it's a girls problem. i experienced this once and had to friends walk closely behind me so that no one could see the blotch while we were walking to the girl's room. it's inevitable that guys will make fun. unless they grew up with many sisters, they wouldnt really understand why these things happen. just dont give a damn about what they say. it's embarassing to be made fun of, i admit, but sooner or later they'll get over it. if they keep on maing fun of you about that, than surely they can be seen as sick-minded boys. when you think you have a heavy flow which is usually at the beginning or middle of the week, wear heavy-flow tampons or pads.

Pads are leaky products and I would not suggest wearing them with out a tampon. You never know if it has shifted, if its full or whatever else could go wrong. If I were you I would always wear a tampon and a pad or a panty liner. If your periods are really heavy be sure to check yourself in between classes.

Yes, it is okay. If you are heavy then the pad will keep you from getting any dirtier. Just wear the tampon with a small pad.

yes. your flow is heavier than you excepted and the pad didnt hold you, try using a tampon and a pad to be safe and some dark color pants in case you have some leakage, dont worry stuff happens, just be on guard next time. and go to the restroom more often.

Oh, I'm so sorry. That sucks! I'd go home if I were you. And it's fine to use both together--I think the question you were really asking, though, is: is it common to use them together? I certainly used them together on my heaviest days, and I know other women who have, too.
