What are some opinions on these guys? Can they go deep in the play-offs this year? They are pretty tough to beat now, ranked 4th in the Conference and 4th in the NHL, that's really good for the Bruins if you've been following them for your whole life (17 years).

What is in these guys' future? They have good young talent and some pretty good coaching.

I think this team has been the definition of over achievers. I have watched many Bruins games this year and notice the strong points about them have been timely goaltending and very good work ethic. I think Claude Julien has done a wonderful job of getting the most of his team. Eventually I think scoring depth will do this team in. We have seen them go on a cold stretch once this season, and if you shut down Savard and Murray you will have a pretty good chance to win. Chuck Kobasew has been a plesant surprise and he needs to keep contributing. I would like to see Brandon Bochenski start playing like he did towards the end of last year.

That being said, with the loss of Bergeron you have to give this team a hand. They are in a good spot to make the playoffs and if they want to run they may need to pick up a player at the deadline and get Thomas healthy again. The building blocks are there, and it is nice to see the Bruins competing again.

I've followed the B's since the early '70s.I don't think that can go all the way this year without picking up another high scorer to replace Patrice and another good set up man.
In the '70s Esposito was always found in the slot and fed by his wings. He rarely missed.
This year's team needs to do better on the pp and spend less time in the box although I admit it is a great improvement over previous years. Our coach seems to be on the right track and I think with more acquisitions they could be a driving force next year.
GO B's

They are surprisingly good. Seriously you look at their roster and even fans of the team didn't know who half these guys were at the beginning of the year, but they've played tough. It's funny to think that they're ranked 4th when they were the laughing stock of the league last year. Think about how good they'll be if Bergeron comes back this season. I think they'll go to the 2nd round of the playoffs and lose there.

I've been following them my whole life too. (14 years)

I'll be the first to admit I am blown away. I am in Boston and with the Patriots, Red Sox and Celtics all stealing the headlines, people around here haven't noticed how they've climbed the standings.
They have a great "problem" in net- Auld, Thomas and Rask have all played very well.
Their forwards are inconsistent, but effective. But the biggest surprise has to be their d. Wideman in particular has really impressed me. They are playing tight defensive hockey, so thank you Mr. Julien
