I bought ML6232 for truck driving hubby.?

Question

I cant find too much info. I need to set up wi fi for him and also a GPS program or street info. Can someone tell me what I need to purchase to accomplish this task? Thanks

To setup a wifi, get a hi speed connection and buy a wireless router. If you do not know how to setup a router, ask the vendor/manufacturer (although it's easy, I don't think you would need help on that.) Routers such as the Linksys wireless routers are of good quality.

For a GPS system on your laptop, I think you need a special type of PCMCIA cards that receives or transmit GPS signals. If you could find one, there should be a software included for that.

I assume he will be using this laptop while truck driving? If so and he wants to always be connected to the internet, then you will need an account with a 'satelite-type' server. The only one I really know that is 'widely' availabe is offered by Verizon Wireless. However, since he is a truck driver, you should know that MOST truck stops and/or restaurants have wireless 'hotspots'. If he's in a hotspot, then he can go online at the truck stop, etc...
As for GPS, you will need to buy one. Most have software to use them on your computer or as stand-alone (in the truck). They are pretty expensive but the GPS's server may also allow internet access as well. good luck and Merry Christmas :)
