I'm into woodworking. I learned it from watching my one grandfather and have been doing it since I was real young. I've made all kinds of things, doll cradles, baby cradles, hope chests, toy boxes, gun cabinets, checker/chess boards , pie safes, so many things I don't remember. The hope chests I make are ones with the arched / rounded lids like the ones from the 17 and 1800's. Some people think they are actually antiques until they see my name and date on the inside.

I enjoy coin collecting. My grandfather has always collected coins and I've recently gotten hooked. It doesn't have to cost a lot. I can go to the bank and pick of a box of coin (whichever denomination I'm in the mood for) for exactly face value. A box of cents is $25, a box of nickels is $100, a box of dimes is $250 and boxes of half dollars or quarters are $500.

Once I get a box, I go through and pull out the better coins (there are books to help with this or websites). I keep all interesting coins and try to fill holes in my coin books.

The coins that I don't want/need can be returned to the bank and put straight back into my account (though it's often better to return the coins to a different bank (not just a different branch but a different bank) so that I don't end up searching the same boxes over and over). So most of my money goes back and I can then get another box.

Some things to search for: wheat cents, silver dimes, silver quarters, old coins, error coins, coins with an "s" mint mark - they may be proof coins etc. There's always the chance of finding a real treasure!

2. Chrocheting (purses & scarves & hats & blankets).
3. Beading (Necklaces & Earings)
4. Macromae (Spelling?).
5. I just made one quilt with the help of a friend.

I have to crow about my newest hobby. For Christmas present my husband has made me a loom. I have lessons scheduled from a wonderful Navajo weaver. Of course my rugs will just be Iwishiwas rugs or perhaps ... alittlebitofcherokee rugs.. This is something I have always wanted to learn...

I am so into making hand beaded jewelry similiar to the native american styles. I use the smallest beads that I can find like delicas or even smaller sized 15/0 beads.... with those sizes of beads one can even take a favorite photo and reproduce the picture on it as a pendant necklace (an idea for a one of a kind gift). but mostly I enjoy making the quicker projects like earrings and bracelets..(comes in handy when you want a piece of jewelry that matches your out-fit..once i even made a pair of earrings with fringe that matched an embroidered rose on my favorite sweater..People stop and ask where i get jewelry that matches my outfit so well.. and when i tell them i made them they want to know where i sell them..lol... maybe one day i will get around to trying to sell them... for now.. I just enjoy making them....gotta go.. my beads are calling...

Making beaded jewelry. It is kind of addictive!!! I've started off with only bead stringing and moved on to wirework as well. This is soooo much fun! There is a great site with step-by-step wire techniques for greenies like me http://www.how-to-make-beaded-jewelry.com

I'm all about creative writing. I'm actually finishing up a short story, and hope to have the first draft done by the end of the month. I also enjoy poetry.
