With the Holiday travel season coming up, it is snowing this morning, roads are slick, more on the way.
It'll be this way til March or April around here.
I dont mind, I worry about other drivers out there but for the most part I slow down, buy good tires and get by OK.
The colder it is the better the driving conditions, 30 degrees and snowing mixed with rain is the worst.
Some people just totally HATE going out on bad roads, what's your thoughts on winter travel??
Any entertaining antecdotes are fine to include.

It really doesn't stop me. As long as you follow the simple travel rules and have a car that can handle it you are fine. I have a new Volvo XC90 and it really handles the roads. It's got a special button just for snow and one for ice.
It's now you you have to worry about. It's the idiot that isn't prepared or doesn't now how to handle the roads that will kill you!!!
Life goes on even in the cold and snow and ice, just like the postman!!!!
Always make sure you have emergency kits in your car. Spare blankets, even a spare coat is good. Keep water and a source of food for energy. Even the most careful driver can run into problems, always be prepared!! The Army taught me that one!!!

Everyone should be more cautious on slick roads. Cars have come a long way since I started driving...uh decades ago ...blah..anyway it is a lot easier to drive with all of the front wheel and 4 wheel drives on te road now. The thing to remember is even though you THINK you have control of your vehicle, you have NO control of what the other guy on the road is doing, so keep safe distance and don't get to cocky about your driving and you should be fine.

We live in Southern Illinois it is hit and miss with us as far as snowy conditions in the winter. This year was HIT I have a 97 Chevy Camaro (convertible) absolute worst car for driving on snow and ice. Rain isn't even alot of fun in this car. So staying at home is usually the way to go.......That is unless I can talk my husband into lettin me use the Yukon. He has a hard time getting into my car. I'm short so it's easy for me to get in. Just not in the snow and ice.!

Last winter I got myself a Suburban and it does very well in the snow/ice so I don't mind driving these days but before that I hated it! My car would slip and slide all over!

I don't like to drive in it if I don't have to. It isn't so much 'me' that I am worried about, but the lunatics that think they can drive through anything. Ice is ice and I don't care what kind of vehicle you have..Speeding and acting stupid is only going to help you find you way to the ditch or the side of an 18 wheeler!

i dont personally drive, but snow does not bother me...lil old Michigan country girl...our school was one of two schools in our district that didn't have school cancelled due to bad roads. i would say that the colder it is the better it is though, makes it much easier...but wind, with all the fields, HORRIBLE!!! and i think it was last week we had the snow and rain, and had two days of school cancelled because of how bad it was....to anybody who's area is recieving it and never gets it, sorry but i must laugh as we're all used to it up here....good luck to ya!

Not very well! I hate driving in snow. The worst is having to clean your car off after a big snow fall and having to get out of your driving space. I HATE it!

I love driving in the snow! I don't stay home during a storm unless it's icing out.
