I'm trying to convert from html to xhtml and need to convert any and all uppercase letters too lowercase letters. How can I do this without having to look at each and every word? If its possible..Please explain in simple terms, because I'm new to alot of this. Thanks.

Microsoft Word can convert text to lowercase.

in Notepad++, under Edit, do Select All, then do Convert Case to UPPERCASE. Save your file, every thing is now Uppercase.

I would recommend downloading and using Notepad++. It is much better than Windows Notepad, and lets you choose what computer language you're writing in to highlight the syntax. It's great for HTML. You can select all the text in a file, right-click, and select "to Lower Case" to convert all the text to lower case.

Do you mean changing the html tags themselves to lowercase? You can do that with a search and replace in a text editor such as notepad or notepad++.
Open the html file in the editor, and click on 'Edit', then 'Replace' (in notepad), or 'Search' then 'Replace' (in notepad++).
Then, for each of your html tags, enter the whole tag - e.g.

write a simple php script to import the original html as a string then output the string as STRTOLOWER(stringname) to lower case the entire file
