Circumventing Internet access control systems with web proxies to access unauthorized web sites is a violation of school computer usage policy. You will get suspended and/or banned from using school computers when you get caught. Use school computers for school work, and myspace can wait until you get home. Do you really want your teachers and school administrators knowing what you are posting on myspace anyways?

Bypassing official blocks - in this instance, ordered by the Department of Education - amounts to a criminal misdemeanor. No Principal has yet had the guts to have a student arrested, so you would most likely simply be expelled

Attempting to bypass the web filtering software probably violates your school's acceptable use policy. In our district, this can result in a 3-day suspension and being banned from the school computers for the rest of the year.

As the one responsible for enforcing the filtering policy at our district, let me warn you that it is very easy to identify those who are trying to access external web proxies. I catch 5 - 10 kids a day and turn them in to their school principals. Some of them are taking computer classes, which they wind up failing because they can no longer use the computer for their assignments. Is it really worth it?

You are not supposed to use the school / college computers for playing, that's why they are blocked. When your IT department catch you, and they certainly will you can be banned from using computers at all. Your parents will be notified as well. We pay taxes to give you an education, not to let you play on you tube . Work at school and play at home.

You can unblock sites like MySpace with a proxy, here are a couple:

http://everetthigh.net
http://1147774.info

These are pretty new so they probably aren't blocked.

We highly recommend utilizing vpnpower.net to unblock websites. I am using their services for more than 4 years with no problems.

http://www.filtermyspace.com
http://www.breakthefirewall.com

Be sure to tell your friends or post them to your myspace page or blog so others can enjoy the same unblocking.

Happy surfing!

Proxy sites will let you unblock myspace. For example, try http://blursurf.com/ - it's brand new so it won't be blocked.
